According to Jin10, Russia's gasoline shortage is affecting Central Asian countries as of July 2, with about 90% of Russian regions experiencing fuel rationing or supply disruptions as of late June. Kyrgyzstan appealed to regional partners including Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan this week for assistance in ensuring energy security and maintaining stable oil product supplies.

Uzbekistan, located west of Kyrgyzstan, saw fuel prices surge sharply, while Kazakhstan, the region's largest economy, tightened border controls to prevent illegal fuel exports. The shortage stems from production halts at Russian refineries due to Ukrainian drone strikes.
