Samsung to Invest $90 Billion in Chungcheong by 2040

Samsung Group announced on July 2 that it plans to invest 140 trillion won (approximately US$90 billion) in South Korea's Chungcheong region by 2040, according to Reuters. The investment will focus on display panels, batteries, semiconductor chips, and chip materials. Samsung Display will invest 67 trillion won in display production, while Samsung Electronics plans 56 trillion won for chip packaging facilities. Samsung SDI will allocate 9 trillion won for next-generation battery production.
