According to Bloomberg, SK Hynix chairman Choi Tae-won announced on July 11 that artificial intelligence is driving exponential growth in memory chip demand. The company plans to double its overall capacity over the next five years to address the shortage. Choi noted that memory demand is expanding faster than supply can support, as AI applications require massive amounts of cache, and supply constraints may persist for years.
