U.S. 10-Year Treasury Hits 18-Month High at 4.703% as Brent Oil Surges 7% Past $100 on July 23

According to Yonhapinfomax, on July 23 U.S. Treasury yields rose sharply amid geopolitical tensions. The 10-year yield reached 4.703%, marking an 18-month high, as Brent crude climbed 7% to $100.69 per barrel following reports of tanker attacks in the Red Sea and U.S. President Trump's threat of a major strike against Iran. The 30-year yield approached 5.20%, last seen in 2007.

Weekly initial jobless claims fell to 187,000, beating the forecast of 212,000 and hitting a 57-year low, though analysts noted potential seasonal distortions. According to CME FedWatch data, markets priced in a 35.8% probability of a rate hike at next week's FOMC meeting, with September rate hike odds rising to over 80%.
