Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a recent conversation with renowned podcast host Lex Fridman that the “closed-source” behavior of AI startup OpenAI is not a desirable approach, as reported by Kim Shi on November 11. To this end, Musk’s first AI chatbot, Grog, will adopt an open-source policy. Musk said OpenAI was created as an open-source, non-profit company to compete with Google (GOOG.O). But today, it’s a closed-source, profit-maximizing company.
As previously reported, Musk’s xAI officially released its first large-scale model product “Grok”.
