1. Create Warpcast account

Warpcast is the most popular client that uses the Farcaster infrastructure. Other clients also use Farcaster, but this article will focus on the most famous Warpcast.

The most annoying part of creating a Warpcast account is not being able to pay the $5/year fee with cryptocurrency. Account creation can only be done through iOS/Android, and the $5/year fee can only be purchased in fiat currency within the app. This goes against the idea of decentralization. After entering your email address, you will receive a brand new mnemonic phrase.

This is separate from the wallet’s seed phrase and needs to be securely stored as well.

1. Connect your Airdrop wallet link to Warpcast

This is an important step in ensuring that your on-chain activity qualifies for future Airdrops. For example, @Spectral_Labs’s Airdrop rewards Warpcast users who are active on Base. Both of my Wallets (Warpcast + Airdrop) are on this eligibility list (but I failed to qualify for this Airdrop).

2. Linking Layer 3 Account to Warpcast

You need a Warpcast account to complete certain Layer 3 tasks. However, linking Warpcast to your Layer 3 account is a bit more complicated. After clicking the Farcaster link, you must complete a Layer 3 task on Warpcast to link the accounts. However, this may vary from person to person.

3. Stay active on Warpcast

The Spectral airdropped rewards to Farcaster accounts that meet at least the following conditions:

❍ 10 fans

❍ 10 likes

❍ 10 releases

Therefore, an active Warpcast account may qualify you for future airdrops. However, the algorithm of Warpcast is different from Twitter. If you post on the homepage (by default), you are only sharing with your followers.

At the beginning, there were almost no people, so if you want to get more likes and followers, the best way is to post on the channel. Channels are similar to the community function of Twitter, where anyone can create and join channels. The best way to get likes and follows is to post to channels with more followers, such as:

I believe creating and managing channels could be a multiplier for the Farcaster airdrop. Some channels require a payment of 10 Warps per post, which will be transferred to the channel owner. Warpcast mentions in the FAQ that there is no benefit to accumulating Warps, so it is best to spend the Warps you have. Frames is the latest feature of Farcaster that turns any cast into an interactive application.

I find most of them to be quite laggy, especially when completing Layer 3 tasks through them (some tasks take a while to verify). But whenever possible, I try to interact with any Frames I see on Farcaster. This could also be a standard for future airdrops. You can create a Frame with Fileverse if possible.

6. Obtain Power Badge

Power Badge specifically rewards active Warpcast users, and I’m working hard to get one. Even though the algorithm is not public. Warpcast hints at the criteria for awarding:
