White House Advisor David Sacks Calls for US Withdrawal from Iran War to Protect Technology and Crypto

AI and Cryptocurrency Advisor to the White House, David Sacks, calls on the U.S. to “declare victory and withdraw” from the conflict with Iran in the March 14 episode of All-In Podcast. This is considered the first public dissent from a high-ranking official in Donald Trump’s administration since the outbreak of hostilities on February 28. Sacks warns that the war is becoming a direct threat to the tech and crypto ecosystems he was tasked with developing.

Tensions escalated after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a list of about 30 U.S. tech facilities — including systems related to Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia — as “legitimate targets.” Some initial attacks are believed to have disrupted cloud computing infrastructure in the region.

The market reacted strongly: Bitcoin briefly dropped near $60,000 before recovering around $70,000, while oil prices temporarily surged past $118 per barrel. Sacks, who is said to have close ties with Elon Musk and Vice President JD Vance, warned that escalating the war could weaken America’s technological position and its efforts to build a legal framework for digital assets.
