The UK-based neobank could go public in the next two years, according to statements of its co-founder and CEO, Nik Storonsky. During its latest funding round conducted in October, the firm reached a valuation of $75 billion, up from $45 billion before.
Key Takeaways:
- Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky ends market rumors, delaying the bank’s IPO to 2028 to build public trust.
- Bypassing a 2026 IPO, Revolut might use private share sales to push its $75B valuation to $100B.
- Expanding globally, Paroma Chatterjee plans Revolut’s India launch in Q2 2026 to hit 20M users by 2030.
UK-based Revolut Weighs Going Public In Two Years
Neobanks, digital banks that offer an expanded set of options to their customers, have become a growing sector in the fintech industry.
Revolut, a UK-based neobank that has amassed over 70 million customers, is weighing its options to go public. In an interview, Revolut co-founder and CEO Nik Storonsky stated that he intends to take the company public, but that the nebank would have to wait until at least 2028 for this to happen.

“Two years away,” he declared when asked about the timing for a potential initial public offering (IPO), stressing the relevance of going public to gather more trust as a bank and keep expanding. “We’re a bank, and for a bank, it’s super important to have trust. Public companies are trusted more compared to private companies.”
Rumors indicated that the bank could file for an IPO as soon as this year or remain private, but Storonky’s remarks have terminated these speculations. Nonetheless, the bank will continue to raise funds via share sales as it does every year.
The last of these transactions assigned a valuation of $75 billion to the company, and reports indicate that a new one would raise this number to at least $100 billion.
Revolut has put a special emphasis on expanding, having recently applied for a banking license in the U.S., a process that could take up to a year. Latam has also been one of the company’s targets, officially launching operations in Brazil in 2023, recently receiving a banking license in Mexico, and applying for one in Peru.
But maybe the largest market brewing for the company is India, where it has silently launched in a beta version and started rolling out its services for 450,000 people on the waitlist.
According to investor Max Karpis, India CEO Paroma Chatterjee stated that the company is prepared for a full launch in Q2 2026, planning to attract 20 million customers in India by 2030.
