Laut China News Net bestätigte Chow Tai Fook am 15. Mai Preiserhöhungen von 5% bis 20% bei festpreisigem Goldschmuck. Ein Mitarbeiter eines Ladens nannte als Beispiel ein Armband, das ursprünglich 53.800 Yuan kostete und jetzt 68.800 Yuan kostet, ein Anstieg um 15.000 Yuan.
